Overview
The survival of tissues and organs relies on an adequate supply of oxygen to the mitochondria within the tissue cells. Importantly, the measurement of tissue oxygen partial pressure (ptiO2) provides a measure of oxygen availability at the cellular level.

Our oxygen sensors are based on state of the art optical fluorescence technology for continuous quantitative monitoring of regional pO2 in tissue and fluids. The technology employed offers several key advantages over devices based on polarographic electrodes, which make our oxygen sensors much easier to use, better suited to physiological oxygen measurements and incredibly sensitive under conditions of tissue hypoxia.
